Why no fillers & emulsifiers?
At Acme Salt Co. we aim to provide our customers with products filled only with 100% seasoning, nothing else. Although more costly, we don't want fillers or emulsifiers in our food, so we will not put them in our seasonings. The benefit is full transparency, you know exactly what you are eating, which is ingredients at their 100%.
Is this blend spicy?
'Spicy' is a very difficult thing to measure! Thankfully we are all unique, so take our answer in that context that your tastes and definition might be different than ours. In general, we would say no Taco Mamí is not really spicy... but if mild salsa is spicy to you, then Taco Mami could be spicy. You can reduce the "heat" a little by using less and adding a little tomato sauce to what you are cooking. If you would like to try a small sample, we would be happy to send you a sample packet. Please send an email to hello@acmesaltco.com.
Can I use it on more than tacos?
Of course! We always encourage you to try our seasonings in your cooking. For fajitas, use this as your seasoning with your usual marinating liquid, or no liquid for marinating. Chili is another great place to use Taco Mami. Also here are some other ideas: Chicken, fish, salsa, popcorn, potatoes, ground pork & pork chops! Halli uses leftover ground beef seasoned with Taco Mami as the meat in the sauce for spaghetti.
Is it salty?
Taco Mamí contains less salt than some of our other products, but we understand that salinity is often hard to measure and tied to personal preference. If you are on a low sodium diet, we suggest you taste the seasoning first, and plan to use about half (or less) of what a recipe calls for.
