Macaroni & Cheese on Steroids ~ Hamburger style

Special homework is due today, game(s) right after school, starving family and bedtime is like an hour away! What are you going to do?? We have been there that is for sure! This quick and filling meal will squelch the growling tummies!

The Ingredients

Serves: 4 to 6

  • ½ of a container of Costco Macaroni and Cheese (found in the fresh section, where they have ready to heat and eat food very close to the rotisserie chicken)
  • 1 pound of ground beef, seasoned with ¾ teaspoon of Acme Superior Salt Mix, browned, drained and cooled
  • 3 oz milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of Acme Superior Salt Mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese

Tips

KEEP IN MIND

  • If you know you need a super fast meal, you can cook the ground beef on the weekend, and refrigerate or freeze it for the day you will need it.
  • You can switch the seasoning in the recipe to any of the Acme flavors.
  • You can also change the cheese!
  • You can also change the ground meat to pork, chicken or turkey, or even the mixed blend of pork and bacon! But you do need to cook and season it before you add it to the macaroni and cheese.
  • One last thing, if you find you need a heartier meal right now, and you do not have premade mac and cheese, you can cook up a box or 2 (use 2 with the rest of the recipe) of macaroni and cheese. We have found you will need a little extra cheese, and a little less milk and Acme seasoning. Start with ½, then look and taste to see if you need to add more.

The Method

Step 1

Step 1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare your 2 quart baking dish with a generous coat of oil on the sides and bottom.


Step 2

In a mixing bowl, put ½ of a container of Costco’s premade macaroni and cheese.

Step 3
Add the cooked ground beef, Acme superior Salt mix and milk. Gently fold the ingredients being careful not to damage the cooked pasta

Step 4
Put the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the top with 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese.

Step 5
Place the filled baking dish into the hot oven and bake for about 25 minutes making sure the casserole is 165 degrees.

Step 6
Serve with a quick vegetable like sauteed green beans, oven roasted broccoli and or a salad.
